Home to approximately half of the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Bwindi offers multiple trekking sectors:

Buhoma - Most accessible, gentle terrain

Ruhija - Higher altitude, scenic views

Rushaga - Multiple gorilla families, varied difficulty

Nkuringo - Challenging terrain, rewarding experience

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Part of the Virunga volcanic mountains, home to the Nyakagezi gorilla family. Combines gorilla trekking with golden monkey tracking and volcano hiking.

What to Expect

Duration: 2-8 hours trekking depending on gorilla location

Gorilla Time: 1 hour with a habituated gorilla family
